Traffic Building Tips

If you have a monetized website or blog, you want to attract visitors who are ready and willing to take action by buying the products you promote or create. You don’t only want generic readers and browsers, you actually want targeted readers who are interested in purchasing your products and services.

A beautifully laid out monetized blog or affiliate marketing website is not doing what it is intended to do if it has no visitors. Internet marketing is a tough, competitive world, and it is only growing more competitive with each passing day. Nonetheless, it is truly possible to succeed as an Internet marketer, provided you are willing to learn how to attract targeted traffic and apply the techniques that you learn on a consistent basis.

SEO and Driving Traffic Organically

The first factor involves organic traffic and on-site SEO (search engine optimization). This includes using enough (but not too much) keyword phrases that are relevant to your niche and the products you hope to sell. The search engines will crawl your site and index it accordingly. This, it is well worth noting, is a free way to drive traffic to your site (unless of course you outsource the content writing of your website, in which case, you will need to pay your content writer).

Link Exchanges

You can also exchange links with other webmasters. Don’t go too crazy with this one, however, because some search engines frown on excessive link exchanging. And if you do go this route, consider engaging in a three way link exchange rather than a direct or reciprocal link exchange. This is another free method you can use to attract more targeted web traffic to your affiliate marketing sites and monetized blogs.

Article Marketing

Another free way to attract traffic is to write promotional articles about your websites and blogs and to post these articles (with backlinks to your sites) in the various article directories. (EzineArticles.com is a great article directory that allows you to include two backlinks in each article)

Be sure to read the TOS carefully and stick to their guidelines exactly as presented.) If you have room in your marketing budget, you might want to fully or partially outsource this particular task as it can be rather time consuming. Do not skip this step, however, as the backlinks that you can get from articles are extremely useful and are an important part of your overall marketing strategy as an Internet marketer and/or owner of monetized blogs and websites.
