Health Insurance Reviews

There are several different ways to find a health insurance review of a particular health insurance company. For instance, you can check out a health insurance review of a specific company that you have in mind by visiting the insurance web page of a reviews website such as FreeAdvice.com. On sites like these, you will typically find a list of all fifty states in the United States. At this point, you can click on the name of the state that is relevant to you, which will typically be the state in which you reside (or in which someone you care about resides).

When researching specific health insurance companies, it is usually wise to read what professionals (that is, various health insurance experts) as well as laypeople (insurance company clients, such as yourself) have to say about specific health insurance companies. Of course, reading a health insurance review is not the only type of research that you will want to conduct when trying to determine the best health insurance company for you, but it is a key part of the process.

In a typical health insurance review, the reviewer will discuss a number of different facets that come into play when working with a given health insurance company. For instance, many reviewers will discuss how reasonable the rates are that a certain health insurance company charges. A health insurance reviewer may also talk about how accessible and helpful the staff members of a particular health insurance company are. Are most of the health insurance agents that work for a given company friendly and easy to talk to, for example?

Health Insurance Companies

Speaking of how the insurance agents treat their clients, according to the health insurance review, are the company's customer service reps patient and willing to answer as many questions as their clients and/or potential clients may have for them? Do they answer these questions in great detail, or do they simply provide cursory or rote responses that sound rehearsed or unenthusiastic or downright unhelpful? Are the health insurance policies of a particular company clear or are they very convoluted? If they are not especially clear or easy for a non-insurance professional to understand, do the insurance agents take their time to genuinely help their clients and potential clients understand the fine print of the policies?

Do the health insurance companies that you are considering offer a variety of different types of health insurance policies to serve the needs of a variety of clients, or do they take a “one size fits all” approach to serving their clients? (People have many different insurance needs, so it is typically better to choose a health insurance company that does not take a "cookie cutter" approach to dealing with their clients, but that instead takes each individual client’s insurance needs into account.

Customer Service

You need to feel that your health insurance agent is really listening to you rather than talking at you. For all of these reasons and more, when you are looking over a health insurance review of a specific health insurance company, you will want to pay particular attention to what each individual reviewer has to say about the customer service that the company under review provides. If the customer service of a certain health insurance company is very well reviewed, and especially if it is well reviewed by more than one reviewer, this bodes very well indeed for the company, and also for you as a potential client of that company.

Of course customer service is only a part of the equation. It’s great when clients feel that the customer service reps and agents of their insurance companies really go the extra mile for them, but a useful health insurance review should also discuss the quality of the different health insurance policies that each company offers to their potential and longstanding clients, the amount of time the companies have been in business and any other relevant historical information, how long these companies have considered been members in good standing in the insurance community at large, and any other subtopics that may be pertinent to your own decision making process.
